Congratulations to all of the winners! Represent your faculty and all students well in 2009-2010!
Note: John McIntyre (running for re-elect SRA Science) was disqualified due to Facebook postings. He has made a Facebook Group to debate the accusations, and plans to seek appeal.
The Referendum Results:
The referendum on the question of whether or not the MSU should operate a Womens Centre did not reach quorum. Therefore, the referendum is moot.
For the full elections committee report, visit this site. Also note that the results are unofficial until the appeals period ends in five days.
FYI: the EC was at school until nearly 5AM last night configuring the results for the election and referendum.

We are people of this generation, bred in at least modest comfort, housed in universities, looking uncomfortably into the world we inherit. -- Port Huron Statement
1) Violation of Election Rule 7.F.vi. "Use of material that is considered to be in "bad taste" as per Definition 2.C ""Bad taste" shall include but not be limited to material that is determined by the CRO/DRO to be: sexist, racist, heterosexist, homophobic, pornographic or obscene, derogatory or prejudicial to any member of the McMaster community. - FINE $20
2) Violation of Election Rule 7.C "Any person found guilty of intentional damage to campaign materials may have any or all of their MSU privileges suspended or revoked, in addition to or in place of fines and/or disqualification. - FINE $30.
Please keep in mind that I will be appealing the decision of the Elections Committee to fine and disqualify me as I believe the accusations to be unwarranted. I will be submitting my full appeal early this week that clearly shows it was not appropriate for the Elections Committee to make such a motion.
If you have specific questions, or would like further information, please don't hesitate to contact me personally at mcintj4@mcmaster.ca.
Just wanted to let everyone know that after my disqualification was overturned, and the recount was done, it was found that I had 147 votes, putting me in second place in the SRA Science Election. Your Science Reps for next year are:
Temara Brown
John McIntyre
Ben Taunton
Aaron Wade
Tamara McNutt
Heather Fisher
I'm really excited for this group of individuals to have the opportunity to work together to represent the Faculty of Science! If you have any questions don't hesitate to message Temara Brown, the current Caucus Leader at srasci@msu.mcmaster.ca.
