12.0 avg would get you on the provost honor roll and im pretty sure you would probably get a scholarship or two.

I guess it does in a way, since you can get scholarships for having high grades. But it's not like you get cheque in the mail as soon as you hit the 4.0 mark (meaning 12.0 on the 12-point scale).

4.0 would get you Provost, yes... I'm not sure about any special scholarships though.

Getting a perfect average would put the person in the top 5% or so in their faculty and I think theres a scholarship associated with that.

a couple years ago my roommate ended up with a 12 average after 3rd year kin (he also had the highest average in social sciences i think) and didn't pay a penny for 4th year.

You don't get any monetary awards specifically for getting a 12.0 average (Provost).
You just get a medal (yay /sarcasm).
Although having an average like that does qualify you for other scholarships.

I hope you realize how difficult it is to get a 12.0. Not impossible, just difficult. Though I suppose it depends on your program.

I don't know if there are any scholarships that are handed to you. You have to apply and be eligible for them. But having a 12 average would be really, really helpful, and I'm not sure you would get turned down from many.

Easiest way to get a 12 average is to be in health sci, besides that you're mostly screwed.

The easiest way to get a 12 average is to be 1) Naturally intelligent and 2) Completely dedicated to the goal. I only have number two and even then I sometimes doubt myself on that one.
To all those who get 12 averages, I salute you.
