Stream: Software Engineering and Game Design

First year experience: It was alright. I found a lot of it to be review (at least in first semester). Everyone complains that it was a lot of work, but I didn't find it to be that bad. I found that some courses could be learned almost entirely from the text book alone (Math 1Z04 and 1ZZ5) :p. I don't really have much else to say.

endearing66 says thanks to Ownaginatios for this post.

Stream: Mechatronics Engineering

Experience: It was alot of hardwork but manageable and fun at times. When I selected ENG I as my program I was still unsure if I really wanted to get a degree in engineering but now after completing first year I feel I made the right choice. Some of my favorite courses were ENG 1C03 (working with solid edge), ENG 1P03 (final project), and Materials, I didn't know what to expect in this course but I enjoyed it more than the others and it was actually a stream of engineering that I never considered before.

Stream: Computer Engineering!

Experience: It was awesome, apart from the hard tests and shockingly simply solutions sometimes, it was a great year and I wouldnt mind doing it again!

it actually depends from year to year depending on the popularity of the branch....an 8 would most probably get you in any branch...

Ya, I don't think anything was very high outside of the management options. Even chem bio only ended up being a 5 or 6...

Stream: Mechanical Engineering & Management

First Year: Put a lot of effort into your Math courses (1Z04 and 1ZZ5). They are worth the most units, and will have a bigger impact on your marks. As well, if you're good at programming, consider taking a lot of effort into that. It is also a 4 unit course, and I pretty much birded through that course and ended up with an easy 12. Aside from that, first year was alright. A lot of things that sit all over the place, but you might be surprised at some of the interesting courses you read up on. I like materials a bit, as well as a few other things.

Heh. Materials is one of those courses that you hate and don't realize was actually alright until the exam is over :p.

the exam was alright, but I actually enjoyed a good chunk of the course. Some stuff was annoying though, but for the most part I liked the material taught ~

lol, that exam was so easy. Most of the multiple choice was taken directly from previous years. I didn't even bother calculating some things since I still remembered the answers from the sample :p
