Apple Laptops and Mac Connect
I am unable to login to Mac Connect Wifi networks and I don't understand why. I have an apple laptop running OSX 10.6. I am able to select Mac Connect networks just fine, however I don't see a portal or gateway to use the internet. Is anyone else having this problem?

It's supposed to automatically redirect to the login-page when you try to visit a webpage. If that doesn't happen then you can contact UTS and ask them for help.

You have to actually open your internet browser and try to visit a web page to log in. If you select 'MacConnect' and then just try to log onto MSN directly or something, it won't work.

wifi doesn't actually blanket the entire campus. they have access points to cover most of the classrooms, but not all.

uts has told us they are working to put in more, but it costs a lot and takes time. hopefully they keep upgrading though, because there are a lot of dead zones...

Ya, the basements of those buildings must have like lead walls or something. Zero wireless reception and zero cell phone reception.
