1) do they have microwaves
2) for some reason ppl told me the closets dont have doors in them, is that true?
3) are there locks on the individual rooms in the apartment ( just wandering)
4) what do you recommend i bring for my individual ROOM in bates, and also for the apartment.

1. If I remember correctly, no
2. Yup.
3. Yup
4. A fan. If possible, several. welcome week is gonna suck.
A TV to make use of that cable.
Stuff to eat from
Anything else is basically the standard "bring this to residence" list that you'll probably find in the articles around the site.

1. no microwaves
2. no doors, put you can see the rails, so at some point there were. Not sure why they took them off
3. yes. You get two keys on move in day. One for the room, one for your door. They look exactly the same which is super unhelpful
4. Definitely attempt to contact your roomies beforehand so you can work out who will bring which major appliances (ie. microwave, kettle etc) and cleaning supplies (!). A fan is definitely a must for welcome week, judging how the summer has been so far, looks like it will be a scorcher.

It hasn't been set yet, it will be posted on MacInsiders when it does. You can also find it on the housing website of McMaster.

I read somewhere Move-In day for Bates was September 4th. In fact, I think it was in the booklet I got on Orientation day.

Most people go home on weekends (those that live close by: GTA area really), but food areas are still open. It gives you a chance to study in peace/go visit friends in other residences.

1) As everyone else has said: no microwaves, but they're not too expensive these days.
2) No doors, but you can just buy curtains or shower curtains if you just want something to cover your stuff. Don't forget to buy one of those adjustable poles though to hang your curtains.
3) Yes for locks on individual doors. No matter how much you trust your roomates, you don't want your stuff stolen.
4) A few things I'd recommend: your own mini-fridge if you don't feel comfortable sharing with other people/want your food eaten, a small bookshelf (or you can just stack your stuff on the floor), fan, ear plugs (thursdays can get loud), maybe a floor lamp for the living room (theres one main light, it can get pretty dark), toaster, pans/utensils, toilet paper (this isn't provided), a mirror, shoe rack, shoe mat for the winter... That's all I can think of right now.

Everyone goes to Quarters (1280)/Hess Village (clubbing district) on Thursdays.
Frosh is the first week of school in September. There are all the welcome week events that week.
Frost week is the first week back in January.
Yes, there are classes nearing the end of the week (Thurs/Friday), but they're just covering high school material and introducing you to your classes. Note that there aren't any labs/tutorials the first week.

I don't suppose it also has the times for each floor does it?
