CFMU Website Overhaul

CFMU Website Overhaul

CFMU, heard by tuning into 93.3 FM, is McMaster's volunteer based campus radio station that has been providing an alternative source for music and news in Hamilton for over 25 years. The service is provided through the MSU (McMaster Student Union) and is known for having a diverse schedule of content.

Very recently, the website has been overhauled to make the radio a lot more accessible. All you need to do is go to http://cfmu.msumcmaster.ca/ and check out what's playing! You can also check out their programming guide that now has a lot more detail about each program. They've also added an archive function where you can check out past programming!

Throughout the week students run their own radio shows that range from spoken word, jazz/blues, beats, to world and cultural. Each of the shows have their own unique style depending on the student(s) that run the show. You're almost guaranteed to find one show that plays the style of music you enjoy most.

If you are interested in starting your own radio show, CFMU takes applications for new shows every year and you might be selected if you have a great idea. Check out the contact page on the website to simply drop by the radio station in the basement of the student centre and knock on the door for more information.

Keeping campus radio alive is very important, since it is an independent station that is not only local to our community, but gives students a chance to voice their thoughts and ideas in an open environment, uncensored by big corporations who run most of the airwaves today.

(Credit for a lot of the above writing also goes to Chad who wrote this way back when. TBrown doesn't want to get caught plagiarising!)

You want those lists? seriously?

I look into what's playing every now and then.. and if you actually listen to some of the shows, students do put a lot of effort into them and some of them are very interesting.

Nope, but they had been up since my first year... it was kinda nostalgic.
