Computer build [Suggestions???]
Im building a new computer for myself.. any suggestions?? buying locally at Canada Computers
$87 - Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H Socket AM2+
$35 - Mushkin HP2-6400 DDR2-800 2GB (2x1GB) CAS 4-5-4-11
$90 - amd 7750 black edition 2.7ghz easy oc to 3+ghz
$115 - ATI 4830
Total (after tax) = 370 $$

and i have a power supply, case, and sata HD & DVD RW already... I figure i will eventually buy a second gfx card and crossfire it with a new mobo (prob the asus M4A79 once the price comes down), and use this mobo for a home theatre box... Can't justify getting one of the new Phenom II's yet, too expensive and not that great yet. Intel = too expensive...

ya I got the antec 300 for my parents computer. It is durable. It has the fan filters in the front and extra places for extra fans.

I have the antec nine hundred. I find the side panels feel more sturdy on it. As well The design makes it a plus. con: No fan filters.

Also for your pc I don't know what you do on it but I find if you want to run windows Vista (64-bit specifically) I find a min of 4gb and a quad core (q6600 is real nice) enables vista to run at fast speeds. But I suppose it depends on your budget.

Thanks, good to know how strong it is, i port my pc all over the place.

I do a lot of everything, from multimedia editing, playing music/videos, and of course, a decent ammount of gaming, (although graphics isnt everything, *cough* crysis). Im a strickly Windows XP kind of guy, so 2gb is fine for now, maybe 4gb later (even though it will limit ~3gb). Im looking to play Left4Dead, Unreal Tournament 3, and NeverWinterNights2:SOZ (which my pc can't play comfortably @ >=1280 res)... so im stuck playing UT2004 & Half Life 2 @Max settings...)

<-- from mlc website: event info page -->
My Current Rig: 2.1 Ghz AMD (oc from 1.8), 1.5 GB ram, 660 GB SATA hd, 256 MB ATI x1300 pro AGP 8X, connected to samsung 22in monitor and Logitech Z-5500.
