Well, having 3 intricately-designed villains, each with their own backstory and intentions, in less than 2 hours worked out just fine on Spiderman 3, didn't it?

I wasn't saying whether or not it would work out, I'm just saying if Nolan and Bale want to go out with a bang, that's one way to do it. Also, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were both around 2.5 hours, so I expect about the same from this one.

I can totally see Cotillard being Talia...The Ra's Al-Ghul story-line can't have possibly ended with Batman Begins. I would love to see Liam Neeson back for this one but maybe it's too much to hope Ra's survived that train crash

He totally did. That's his superpower, not dying.
The first movie managed with two. Hopefully three won't be too much of a stretch. As long as they keep love triangle drama reasonable, its possible. I never liked any of Bats' babes anyway. Pepper ftw. 
Personally I'm hoping the movie opens with an old fashioned cold open. This would be the movie to do it, since Bats his been established for a while now according to the timeline. |

I'm not a Batman hater. I'm watching TAS right now. 
I don't think they'll put Liam Neeson back for too long, considering that it'll lead to a subplot requiring another installment to the franchise. The best case scenario would be a cameo, I think.
