the last 30 seconds made up for the WHOLE episode but i kind of had a feeling they were going to do something like that
oh wells.
looking forward to season 7

I knew they had to let that happen in order for this show to go anywhere, it was pretty predictable but somehow knowing what was gonna happen they still made it extremely suspenseful as always.....next season is gonna be nuts so many possibilities
Overall I really enjoyed this season.. I loved the whole religious vs. secular theme, and how Dexter really grew a lot as a person, and as a father, even though he became really sloppy at some points (sending a video of himself in front of his boat to Travis... wtf? The Dexter of season 1/2 would never do that). The Gellar twist was awesome, Lewis is damn creepy, and the tableau's were sooo fantastic/disturbing. I think the whole season was really just to set up season 7 though. Definitely excited to see how Deb will handle everything...

It was a solid Dexter season. Definitely not the best one, but overall pretty good. I liked each characters story lines and the little shockers throughout the season. That ending though....FRICKIN AMAZING! I loved the last 30 seconds and i CAN"T WAIT till next season. I'm definitely eager to see where they take the show now.
the finale was ...expected, very disappointed. he's an idiot for letting that happen. the moment _____ said _______ and Dexter went _____, it was super clear that was gona happen at the end
Yeah I'm gonna have to put my vote in on the side of "didn't love this season"
I was never cliffhanger-on-the-edge-of-my-seat during an episode or really even between episodes... Deb story was interesting until they made it creepy the last couple episodes.. and I found the writing really lazy! Examples: magical babysitter than can watch Harrison 24/7, going on random trips/side quests in order to delay the reveal that (spoiler: Gellar is dead), and wtf with that sideplot with matthews! That was interesting and they just kinda... cut it off.... :/
Anyway, was expecting what happened in the finale to happen (eventually), especially after last season... just not sure now how they're going to get through 2 seasons more with her knowing!
Edit: also: They could have been dealing with so much grey area with mentally unstable people like (spoiler: Travis), but instead, nope he just goes full on crazy killah. kill kill kill.

I love Dexter's thought process because it seems like something to can relate to at times. His take on social norms is quite funny sometimes. It's nice seeing Dexter's human side through Harrison. As for the cliffhanger, it seemed like it was bound to happen eventually and the writers even said that it'd be unfair for Deb to go on like that.
I'm also interested in knowing Lewis' story. People have been speculating that he's somehow related to Dexter or knows of his past. Apparently the part where he asked Dexter to take a look at his game could be seen as a subtle invitation to talk about his serial killings
I thought the reason was bad compared to other seasons, and terrible compared to other shows currently airing that are much better.
The cliffhanger, while good, was something that we've been waiting for since the beginning. Sooner or later Dexter's secret was going to get out. It felt almost as if the producers decided "Hell, we might as well use it now."
That's my opinion at least.

The season ended the way I was hoping it would. As a whole, I don't think it was nearly as good as 1 or 4, but much better than the disaster that was season 5. I'd probably rank them something like...1 = 4 > 2 > 6 > 3 > 5.
I was "spoiled" by the Gellar twist early on (as in, I was aware of the hints the show gave me, but couldn't be sure until the reveal), so I wasn't too blown away by that, and you probably could have guessed the twist at the end if you put the pieces together earlier on.
I'm glad it finally happened though after the huge copout that was season 5's finale. I'm just really disappointed in it as a whole. Anyone remember the trailer? Here's a refresher:
Spoilers, if you for some reason opened this thread and care about spoilers and haven't seen the end of season 4.
(edit: added some spacing 'cause I didn't realize even the preview frame was the spoiler lololo)
We all thought the season would revolve around Quinn investigating Dexter's secret as sort of a Doakes 2.0, but nope. An episode or two in, the writers are just like "hay guise, meet lumen, you'll <3 her trollface.jpg". Then at the end, we're teased with the opportunity that something big might happen, but nope. Deb's just not gonna look behind the curtain.
Sorry, I was just really disappointed by season 5.
But back onto season 6: I really liked the little references to earlier seasons, and was especially happy with Brian's appearance again, even if it was just for a "holiday special"-like episode. Brother Sam was a pretty cool dude too, but I wish he didn't die. On a related note, I was really saddened that all the brunette guest stars ended up dead too. One of them was even named Erin. :(
