A First Look At Quarters Demolition

A First Look At Quarters Demolition
Quarters, as we know it, is closed... a sign on the door stating that renovations are under way and to look forward to the reopening in September. But what is really going on behind that locked door? The Board of Directors want to let you in on exactly that by launching a new renovations update website where they will be posting photos and news about the renovations as they happen each week.
So far the MSU has approved the expenditure of $375,000 for the improvements and demolition is underway. "In order to complete this project on time for the upcoming academic year, Ira McDonald began demolition which included the dismantling of the main dividing wall and bars", says the Board, "It is pretty obvious from the pictures that the big red wall is gone and let me tell you all, the place is massive. In addition to the wall being gone, the main bar that was in the restaurant has vanished and so has half of the dance floor bar. Stay tuned because coming up we will post blueprints that show an island bar, a sweet lounge and other cool concepts".
The website also mentions the renovations including: - Window booths and benches
- More places to sit and better lighting
- WiFi internet
- A bigger bar
- Coffee
- Power outlets for your laptops

According to the blog, the working name they have for Q's is "the rusty scholar."
I can't say I'm a big fan. I just can't see myself getting psyched to spend my Thursday night (a night where I'll be trying to forget about school) in a bar called the Scholar, hahaha.
What're your thoughts?

I don't understand why they need to change the name. That had nothing to do with the fact that the people that oversaw Quarters' operations didn't understand that not having a profit was not a good thing.
Don't punish the name!

Lmao, I don't like the name either. Why couldn't they have made a poll of some sort?

Yeah, I believe a number of items will be auctioned off.
As for the name, it's unofficial. "The Rusty Scholar" was voted in during a straw vote that was conducted during our SRA meeting. If you have any name suggestions, please feel free to send an email to the Board of Directors or you can send me a message and I will relay it to the Board of Directors.

They did, actually. There was a poll a couple months ago, with a bunch of bad names. I voted to keep the original name. I actually really like the name Quarters.
