french---language course requirement?
Hello,

Im trying to switch into linguistics cognitive science and it is a requirement that you take 12 units of a language....I wanted to take french 1z06 and then 2z06...but I'm not sure if they would full-fill the language requirement because they are just beginners courses and it says that if you are taking french to full-fill the requirement then you have to be proficient in it! Did anybody in linguistics cognitive science take french courses? How would it be known if you were fluent in the language or not??

By proficiency, I would think they mean how well you do in the course. Honestly, you just need 12 credits and you'll be good to do for LingCogSci.
