The phone is locked to rogers but I need to unlock it for fido. I've tried to jailbreak it but I am tech challenge. LoL.

can't you just transfer your number to fido .. I had Rogers number last year but a fido iphone I just got a new fido plan and transferred my number

I was going to port my number from fido to rogers and get a new plan, but the instore representative at fido and the customer service people miscommunicated now I can't or i'll have to pay a cancellation fee. So Fido offered to unlock my phone but I'd have to bring it into Rogers and they said it will take 2-3 weeks.

go to mapleview mall in burlington. they have a booth there with a guy whos really good at unlocking phones. he will do it the same day and its around 35$. he unlocked my iphone 4 and now it can be used with any sim card from any network

Your on a baseband that can't be unlocked right now.

Apple is still signing 5.0 firmware, try downgrading that way you will get an unlock sooner than if you were on 5.0.1

You can also contact Rogers and ask them to unlock your phone.
