JM Metrailler for SRA Social Science
Its that time of year again...there is another by-election for SRA Soc Sci, and I am running!

http://metrailler.ca/

My name is Jean-Marc Metrailler, and I want to represent you on the Student Representative assembly. I feel I have the character, the motivation, and the experience for this job, and if elected, I will not let you down.

What motivated me to run for this SRA is a frustration that students pay a lot of money into the MSU and largely don't have any input on what it does.

In order to give students a greater say in the MSU, I have come up with 3 main platform points:

- I will be committed to communication. If elected, I promise to release a monthly newsletter highlighting what I've done in the MSU, and how it affects you.

-I want greater financial accountability in the MSU. If elected, I want to push for a dollar-by-dollar break down of your "MSU Operating Fund" fee, so you know exactly what services you are paying for.

-Most notably, I want to radically change the way one of your Vice-Presidents is elected. The Vice-President Education represents you in lobbying both internally and outside the university, on things like tuition and access to education. A position so closely related to students interest should be elected directly by you, not by the SRA. I want to put VP Education on the same ballot as President.

Only Soc Scis can vote, but everyone else is more than welcome to show their support by liking my Facebook page or clicking attending! Voting is by paper ballot, on March 1st, from 9am-5pm, in the Student Centre near Williams coffee.

For more info or to show your support, like my Facebook page here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/JM-Met...439156?sk=wall

or check out my website at http://metrailler.ca/

Thank you!

This may be a stupid question, but hear me out anyway:

Since you are gunning for SRA Soc Sci, does that limit the people who can vote for you to only only those people who are in Soc Sci? I'm in good ol' regular science and would be more than happy to lend you a vote.

T_T I don't see how I managed to read every bit in that sentence except the part that answered my question. I need to get more sleep.

thanks.

Thanks for your words of encouragement Adelle and others.

Though only Soc Scis can vote, it must be stressed that the SRA is a body which represents the whole university, and if any of you have any questions or concerns, no matter what your faculty, feel free to ask!
