the spot appears to be vacant according to this link. https://www.msumcmaster.ca/studentGo...sentatives.htm
She might have transferred to another university/faculty.

I totally agree, I'm also in my 2nd year in kin. I've heard of this girl before and saw her in class during my first year of kin but only in the first term. When second term rolled around I nnever saw her once, and I've heard rumors that she got some of the required kin courses waived ( aka she didnt have to take them) which i think is totally unfair to all the rest of the 200 of us who had to take them, and now shes representing our faculty.
How does that make us look, when we don't even know if she's still in KIN or not?
It's ridiculous....thats all i have to say.

If you get a course waived, its because you have good reason for it- ie you've done a course with equivalent content already. The admin won't waive a course without good reason...

I don't know the situation with Nashwa, but I definitely saw her at Mac during Welcome Week. If you guys don't like your reps, maybe you should run? Kin never has people filling the SRA spots, because nobody runs.

She switched faculties. We're in the process of getting that spot filled.

Yeap, She switched to SocSci I think over the summer.

That means Kin has two seats open, I am really really hoping for a fiercely contested election for them this October.

I say that after seeing the strong turnout of Kin students at MSU GA in March who didn't want to lose their SRA Kin Seats, one of the main reasons provided to remove the kin caucus and amalgamate it into Science/SocSci is the chronic historic lack of interest in SRA and seats being unfilled or acclaimed. Kin reps have just as equal a one vote that makes major decisions that affect the entire student body, so its only fair that at least more than two candidates contest these elections.

Just to clarify...

Nashwa transfered out of kin into SCIENCE for her own reasons...there was no waiving of courses or anything.

I would encourage kin students to run for that seat though...you guys should have a say in what goes on in the SRA, and having two empty seats just makes the faculty as a whole look bad!
