Level II Science Program Selections - Hon. Bio?
Hi,

I'm currently in first year Life Science and my top program choices for next year are:
Hon. Biology, Origins Reseach Specialization
Hon. Molecular Biology & Genetics
Hon. Biology & Psychology
Hon. Biochemistry

I've heard that Hon. Biology (Origins) is a very small program (15 students entered it last year), so if I don't get in, will I be considered for the regular Honour Biology program (no Origins), or will I just get "bumped down" to my second program choice? I'm not really sure how the system works.

Should I just include Honours Biology in my top 4 choices to be safe? Even though I'd be using up two spots in my top 4 that are almost the exact same thing? I don't want to eliminate Hon. Biochemistry yet, but I'd rather be in Hon. Bio than anything else, even if it's without Origins.

Thanks alot!!

you will receive an acceptance for all the programs you qualify for and pick one. Hmm well if you anticipate that your average is going to be well above a 6, you don't need to pick the biology program. If it's close to a 6, you could include it to be safe.

Biochem will take you with like a 6. I know biopsych and chem bio are slightly more competitive. That's about it. If you have >9 gpa, you will most likely get into everything.
