Does MacCycle still sell refurbished bikes? I'm looking for a beater to use in the fall that I don't need to worry about getting stolen. What is the general quality/condition/price of the bikes? I tried the MacCycle website, but it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Also, I've heard that the security bike auction is a good option, but how did our police officers get these bikes in the first place?

Well I know police department have autions where they sell stolen goods that they cant do anything about anymore.

I was told by someone that the bikes auctioned off during welcome week are the bikes that were left chained to the racks that people forgot about.. Could be wrong though!
