Actually, I believe the second one required your MacID. Not the MacPass. I believe upper years were allowed to attend. But I could be wrong, I don't remember the details.

Oh! So what do the upper years do during welcome week (since they can only attend SOME events), if all the first-years are busy with the events of welcome week?

Upper years move in like half-way through welcome week and then school starts on the 10th. They move in on the 7th. So they would probably take those days to transition into residence. Get everything ready for the start of school.

Oh! So we move in before upper years? since our move-in days are 5-6th of September or something. Should be fun though for both.

MacPass
Does anyone know what bands are playing at the welcome week that are included in the Macpass?
Also, could anyone fill me in on any interesting events you would miss if you don't get a macpass?

Well, you won't have to carry anything up stairs. So count yourself lucky (Although at the end of the year you have to bring everything down yourself.) Unless you have an elevator in your residence. Then you're really lucky
You don't have to do ANYTHING that day. Just get your keys and your swag. Relax, go around knocking on doors and meet people.

To avoid the mass move-in by first years. They don't get their stuff brought up for them. That would be my guess. Plus, you don't need 5 days to settle in before class starts. 3 is enough.

The welcome week reps move everything up to your room for you when you unload your car.
Since I'm an upper year, I get the great privilege of doing it myself. :(
