I received an email from the Dean of the Faculty of Science and it says:
"If you are in Life Sciences I, Kinesiology I, Medical Radiation Sciences I
or Environmental & Earth Sciences I, we strongly encourage you to complete
Math 1LS3. This calculus course has been specifically designed for you.
According to the professor, Dr. Miroslav Lovric, the purpose of Math 1LS3
is "to help students attain good quantitative thinking skills so they can
apply those to problems in life sciences (for instance, students will be
asked to read several selected research papers in biology and/or medicine,
with the purpose of understanding the math that's used). " You can look at
the course website for more information
(
http://www.math.mcmaster.ca/lovric/1LS3.html). We strongly recommend you
register for Math 1LS3 unless you are considering doing a minor in Math, or
a significant number of upper-level university Math courses. If you've
already registered in Math 1A03, please logon to SOLAR and modify your
registration before your seven day window closes. "
So I guess I am going to take 1LS3...
