Yea i find it funny. Last season bettman said if phoenix starts winning they will get fans, and now all of a sudden they might be a contender. Irony.

Wings wont win, and even if caps make it to the finals they will lose to a western conf team with a tough defense.

Sweeping season series doesnt mean much in the playoffs. Playoffs are a diff level of intensity, and teams play way more solid defensively. With Malkin, Gonchar healthy, and if Fleury can regain his playoff form (which i beelieve he can) they will beat the caps. (just recall canada vs russia from olympics).

Honestly, they have little chance of winning... but at least the Habs are still better than the Leafs.

Not me! I havent cared about the Caps since Stevens left them. And I will never cheer for any team Ovechkin plays for.

Exactly, playoffs are much different than regular season. Defense is the most important requirement and washington are not very good in that area. Plus, ovechkin is more of an individual player than a team player.

Washington isn't going to win. Varlamov/Theodore would have to be flawless, and they have no defense on the ice. If Ovechkin chokes in some form or another, they're done for. In my opinion, no Eastern conference team will win. The West is far too strong.

But here are my picks:

Washington, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh go through in the East, and Colorado, Chicago, Vancouver and Detroit go through in the West

Then Washington and Pittsburgh go through, and Chicago and Vancouver go through, then it'll be Pittsburgh and Chicago with Chicago taking it all.

This year will be very interesting. I could definitely see New Jersey beating Philly, LA beating Vancouver, hell, even Boston solving Buffalo with Tuukka "Almost a Leaf" Rask standing on his head and outdueling Miller. Who knows.

WHAM.

that means nothing. This is Playoffs. Its a whole new game. Not only that.

Crosby has outplayed Ovechkin. If Malkin was healthy the Penguins would be putting up even more solid numbers.

If the Sedin's have played like they have all season and Luongo pciks it up, Canucks will take it. I wouldn't mind Chicago or San Jose because they're both solid teams. I definately don't want Washington or Pittsburgh to win either.

Man I'm really hoping it won't be Coyotes vs. Caps/Pens in the final. If it ends up that way the NHL is rigged.

Dont even talk like that. I'd have to give up hockey and start watching baseball, or basketball, or some other crappy sport. Then I'd have to kill myself to ease the boredom. So yeah, let's not lose faith.

It was bad enough that the Pens beat the team they lost to in the 2008 final, as if they had to get their "upcommance."
