Crosby did score the first goal of the game. On his own net.

If you're going to block a shot and risk deflecting the puck, at least commit.

Are you sure? I was high and all, but I definitely don't remember that.

What he means is that the puck hit Crosby and went in the net

I just got back from Vancouver this afternoon! It was truthfully one of the best experiences of my life. If I get time, I’ll be sure to upload some pictures, but I have to catch up on some work first. :p

I was at the game last night, and thought I’d chip in my two cents.

First off, congratulations Team USA. The story of the game was Ryan Miller, he was more focused than Brodeur in net. Team Canada dominated most the play and got 45 shots on Miller who stood tall for the USA. There is no shame in losing a hard fought game like this one.

Goaltending issue:

I agree with most of the posts here. I think that Brodeur was trying to help relieve the pressure from the US forecheck too much and lost track of his number one job, stopping pucks. The baseball swing and resulting goal did it for me. I support a change to Luongo for sure.

However, Luongo is known for chocking under pressure. He has been hit and miss, and inconsistent all year. He has been pulled five times this year because of his poor performance. The most recent being the Canucks last game before the Olympics.

Nevertheless, he's an awesome goaltender, and is fully capable of leading Canada to gold.

Crosby:

Being a HUGE Crosby fan, I’m kind of disappointed about all the negative comments towards him. :p An unofficial new "C" (captain) will appear in Team Canada's dressing room. Have you seen the pictures of Crosby after the game? The fire is burning inside. Crosby will amaze in the next few games. You heard it here first.

There is so much more I want to say. I’d really love to rant on Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer, but that would take to long, and I don’t have time right now. :p

As for tomorrow, it should be an easy win (hopefully). If we get through the Germans tomorrow, that would set us up for a quarterfinal match up against the Russians, which should be epic. We just need to take it one game at a time, and I’m sure we’ll be fine.

GO CANADA GO!

Crosby may be overrated, but that's not saying much considering people basically rate him the highest after Gretzy, Lemieux, etc...

The guy's as old as you guys and he already has the Art Ross Trophy, the Hart Memorial, Lester B. Pearson and a Stanley Cup under his belt.

Call him a douche, that's fine with me, but he hasn't really done anything wrong.

Kevin S likes this.
