Quarters is located in the basement, off the hallway leading into TSH. You can access it through the Student Centre. It is labelled as a 'restolounge & club' and is the only venue on campus with a large stage and area for indoor concerts. It also features a restaurant eating area, 2 bars, and a patio.
Quarters is run by the MSU (McMaster Students Union) and is therefore home to many MSU Club events as management is very accomodating for clubs. MacInsiders has run multiple events here; the large venue capacity and built-in house lights make it a great location. Almost all MSU Campus Events are held in this venue, including concerts from big name bands, acoustic nights, comedy, movies, and more.
During the summer Quarters is hosting acoustic patio nights, they call them "Thursday Night Bring-Your-Own-Bucket Patio Nights". For $10 you can get four beers, you just need to bring a bucket to hold them!
During the school year, every Thursday and Saturday night is bar night, the biggest and most lively nights at Quarters, with long lines and numbers reaching capacity. It is very popular with students in residence as it is located on campus and allows a limited number of first year students to enter during bar nights (with wristbands for no alcohol of course).
The bar is known for its cheap drinks and very affordable food, but unfortunately has a poor reputation among students for quick service during the day. This makes it difficult if you're wanting to get a bite to eat but only have 30-40 minutes inbetween classes to do so. If you are planning on eating there be sure to leave yourself some time! This may change in the future with plans of opening a take-out window for fast orders.
If you're looking for a place to party on campus on Thursday or Saturday and not in the mood for Hess Village, Quarters is a good place to be. During the day, since their food is cheaper than almost anywhere else on campus, and their portions much bigger, they are an affordable choice for lunch and one of the only two places you can sit on a patio and enjoy drinks with your friends during the afternoon.

I love getting food here... it doesn't take that long if you tell them you're in a hurry... I've been in and out in under 30 minutes there =) Not only that but the prices are amazing!

Quarters has great prices for students who aren't looking to break the bank (pretty sure a filling meal at Quarters is about the same price as a tiny little sandwich at La Piazza or Commons). Service is sometimes VERY slow, even when it's not very busy. Be prepared to have to catch the attention of every waiter/tress who walks by. At night, the music is great, the drinks are not too expensive and the crowd (on good nights) is fun! All in all, I like 1280/ Quarters and recommend it to any student.
Very slow service. Food is alright, however, me and a handful of other people who came the same day got pretty intense food poisoning from there. From the perspective of a legit restaurant it falls very short. For a place that sells alcohol and food on campus, it's decent.
