we dont need to buy a laundry bag if we purchased a macpass right?

Also, does mcmaster sell student agendas (those planner books we used to get in high school with the calender and all) or do we need to buy it outside?

based on the research i've done it costs almost the same to rent the fridges as it does to buy a new one so unless you really don't want to own one, its a better deal to just buy your own

nuttynatz, you don't need a laundry bag, no. but i found it hard to carry that bag downstairs to the laundry rooms. if your'e doing laundry in res, get something with wheels.

Titles sells agendas, yes. As well, the MSU gives them away to all students during WW. And if you're a CSD student you get an agenda from CSD as well.

If you bought a mac pass, you get one from the res along with some other things.

Here is a picture of last year's bag, from http://drewgarvey.com/html/webdesign.php. They've been the same for the past five years.

I remember reading somewhere that there is air conditioning already, but should I still try to bring a fan or air con?

Not all residences have air conditioning, so I'd recommend bringing a fan.

The beds are single size beds. I got sheets from Ikea and they fit fine.

Thanks so much for this list, it's so helpful!

Related question.. how MUCH [boxes, containers etc] would upper years recommend bringing? I can just envision the reps opening my trunk and thinking I'm crazy for bringing so much =/

It really depends on the person, I personally did just fine for the first few weeks with everything I brought and I ended up having as follows:

2 plastic tote boxes (one of them had all my bedding stuff), the other having dishes/cutlery, school supplies & random things, 2 suitcases full of clothes, 3small plastic clear boxes where I put shoes/toiletries/make-up and such, and my printer (in an unopened box), and my backpack with laptop, wallet, and other small things. I lived in a tripple and had a fridge included, but if it wasn't, I'd probably bring one of those too.

I went home every 2 weeks though and often brought things home / to Mac.

Edit: And I had a case of water, which I think I would've died with during the excruciatingly hot Welcome Week.
