Welcome Week is a great time of year! It's a time to get to meet your peers and to integrate yourself at McMaster University.
There are many events during welcome week including:
Mac Connector: This is where all the first years run onto the field wearing your residence t-shirts. You will take part in activities to help you get acquainted with other people.
IRC Bedraces: This is where each residence and SOCS will race each other on beds with wheels! Root for your residence to win and earn point towards the Welcome Week Cup as well as the IRC cup!
Faculty Day: Spend a day with your faculty and meet the people that you will learn side by side with. Each faculty plans their own activities and it is guaranteed fun!
Bloc Party: Enjoy a BBQ and music as DJs from Hamilton rock the party! Socialize with your peers and have a dance. It's going to be a fun evening!
AND SO MUCH MORE SUCH AS CONCERTS, A PJ PARADE AND SHINERAMA!

Joseph, ~*Sara*~ all say thanks to jhan523 for this post.
The Block Party's gonna be changed a bit. Instead of two parties (one for each quad), there's just gonna be a giant street party in one of two locations:
-outside Edwards
-outside the Student Centre/University Hall circle
So yeah, it should be a crazy party for all you first years.
McMaster Combined Honours Cultural Studies & Critical Theory and Anthropology: 2008
McMaster Honours English with a minor in Indigenous Studies: 2010
Carleton University Masters of Arts in Canadian Studies: 2012 (expected)
We are people of this generation, bred in at least modest comfort, housed in universities, looking uncomfortably into the world we inherit. -- Port Huron Statement
Does anyone else hate that they moved bedracers to the FOLLOWING SUNDAY? It's pretty much not frosh week anymore.
It feels like highschool when they force you to go to your team's football game, but you get out of class, so you go anyways...
I was really upset when they moved bedraces to the Sunday. It was frustrating mainly because that's one of our biggest events and I found it unfortunate that it had to be moved to the Sunday. Neverthless, due to conflicts of location it had to move to that date.
I always hated how you had so little time with your faculty. You're with your residence for one year, your faculty for four.
You have to live with people in your residence for eight months. Besides I don't really talk to people in my program I prefer people in different programs it gives me a different perspective when I'm tackling issues.
