I've heard this of most universities, too. I had an annoying kid in my graduating class who asked the exact same set of questions to all of the university presenters (including other "really good questions," like "are there lots of hotties with bodies at your school?" and "can you have sex in the dorms there?"), and the only one who said this (mark adjusting based on schools) didn't happen in their university admissions process was the speaker from Ryerson.
Could've changed since then, but I definitely agree that I've heard this.
