Does anyone know if the textbook "Adolescence, by Nancy Cobb" is needed for PSYCH 3AB3? It says the book is required on the course outline but many of my friends bought the courseware instead... I'm starting to wonder if there is much of textbook content on the midterms and exams.

Yeah, the book is definitely required for this course. Dr. Day will put up questions from the readings both on the mid terms and the final exam.

Buy the book, or at LEAST do the required readings ESPECIALLY for the midterms. the midterms are only around 40 questions, and i think its like 5-6 come from the text... so if you got perfect on the courseware material and didnt read the text the best you could do is 35/40... when its out of so little, the textbook questions add up to alot... for the final its a different story. usually its out of 100 and 10 questions are from the text. so you have a little more flexibility if you dont read the text. but def do the readings for the midterms.
