it deals with international work/school exchanges, where they help organize all legal documents and other fun things to make it easier to go to school/work overseas. not necessarily cheap, but ive heard good things about it

It's a on campus student run organization... open to all years for both membership and exchange/global internships (you can even go on exchange 2 years after graduation). If you become a member it's also really good for business exposure & soft skill development before graduation

Yeah, it's also a great way to meet people. I've been with AIESEC for almost a year and have developed leadership skills and public speaking/presentation skills among others that you can gain from AIESEC.

If you want to find out more about them just e-mail: [email protected] com

Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales

That's what the acronym is. But the association is now and has been open to students of all faculties. I have a friend that joined and she tells me that its been really great because she got to network with a lot of McMaster faculty deans and local Hamilton businesses. Once she went on a sales meeting with a Hamilton company and was offered a job on the spot because the business owner was just so impressed with her. Kinda makes me want to join now so I can improve my professionalism. :/

AIESEC is a French acronym. It stands for "Association internationale des étudiants en sciences économiques et commerciales" or in English, "International Economic and Commercial Sciences Students Association". It is the world's largest student run organization and provides you with a platform to go on an international internship or become a leader with global perspective.

From what I gather, there are over 60'000 members in over 2100 universities/colleges in over 110 countries over the world. There is a chapter here at McMaster and they have about 35 members. They are always looking for more people to join and develop themselves.

If you are looking for an opportunity to develop yourself as a leader, as a professional or as a person, to expand your personal/professional network or to experience an internship abroad, all the while learning what it's like to be globally and socially conscious... join AIESEC.

I have a friend who is on an AMAZING AIESEC Internship in Lithuania right now..and another on the way to the Ukraine in a few weeks.

The cool part about an AIESEC internship is that you have the support of AIESEC members both here and in the country you go to. Meaning they pick you up at the airport, find you housing, show you the sites, and introduce you to other foreign interns on AIESEC internships!

The best part is that you can go WHENEVER during your years as a student at Mac. I intend to go on my internship next year and I CAN'T WAIT!
