Ainslie-Wood North Col. Neigh. Group Meeting: Oct 27th

Ainslie-Wood North Collaborative Neighbourhood Group Meeting: October 27th

The Ainslie-Wood North Collaborative Neighbourhood Group (AWN Group) was created in an effort to establish a relationship between the permanent residents of Hamilton and the student population. In the Ainslie-Wood neighbourhood, the ratio of tenants to permanent residents is approximately 50%. Both groups in this area share a variety of concerns that often overlap, including quality of life, living conditions, and the number of rental properties. For students specifically, the amount of welcome they feel in a community can have a large impact on their post-secondary and civic experiences.

The first official meeting of the Ainslie-Wood North Collaborative Neighbourhood Group will be Tuesday, October 27th at 5:00pm in MUSC 318 of MUSC.

This meeting is open to everyone: students living off campus (in the Ainslie-Wood area and beyond) as well as students living in residence. Anyone interested in the community and community relations is encouraged to attend.

Some of the things on the agenda for the meeting:
  • The AWN Group (the 5 W's)
  • How the AWN Group will function
  • Choosing the Co-Chair positions (one for a student resident and one for a permanent resident)
Come on out! Refreshments will be provided!
