If you'd like to get technical, McMaster will simply be pointing the mx.mcmaster.ca and/or the mail.mcmaster.ca DNS zones to Google's mail exchange server IP addresses. McMaster will still obviously own and operate the mcmaster.ca domain itself.
Naming conventions will still be left up to UTS and they'll keep it the same way to prevent the hassle of changing thousands of email addresses
