Any spaces on campus that are accessible on Victoria Day?
Hi, I was just wondering if there was any open space on campus with a *smooth floor* that would be available on a public holiday? I just need some space for dance practice. I just realized that it's incredibly difficult to find dance space on campus on a public holiday. I'm guessing the doors to most buildings will be locked.
* Will the student center be accessible?
Does anyone know?

Your best bet would be to call and ask, facility services would probably be the best to ask but you can just call McMaster in general and they'll forward you if needed.

Practice outside if its nice out! I know there's plugs outside around the student centre if you need a stereo/laptop for music, there might be some at other places on campus too

There are lots of areas...: I've seen people dancing in MDCL all the time, there are some empty classrooms with that quality, the room to the right of the entrance to ETB has a huge empty area, the athletic centre areas are pretty open (field/gymnasium/various courts), student centre main floor (unless you don't like an audience), theres a balcony on the third floor thats usually empty and pretty much everywhere outdoors.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I need a smooth floor to glide on.... so pretty much any kind of gravel or grass won't work.
It IS nice out though! ;-)

Yup I thought of MDCL but I think the building's locked on a public holiday. The athletic centers are closed for sure. Unfortunately outside wouldn't work because I would need a smooth floor.
I'm hoping that the student center will be open.... there's plenty of open spaces there. Thanks for the suggestions! ;-)

my bet would be that the student centre is open. It was open on Easter, when pretty much everything else was closed. Call 'em and ask

MUSC is only closed from a few days before Christmas until the day before classes resume in January...so it will be open.
