Anyone a fan of Slowcore?
I've only really been listening to slowcore lately, and I'm wondering if anyone around this neck of the woods digs it. Maybe we can spend our Friday nights listening to it and crying : |

Why does everything need retarded titles.

Hear, hear

EDIT:
I'm not sure if this exactly fits your description of slow, because after listening to the music in your post, this is pretty darn fast. Compared to what I listen to, it's slow. But still, nothing like laying in bed listening to these slow, sad songs on those rainy days of heart break.

Its not just used for songs/bands that are slow, its a sub-genre that has a few more defining features. I personally think its kindof a stupid term myself, but people have been using it for at least 15 years- its a bit late to change it now.

I like a few bands that fall into the classification, but I don't listen to it that regularly.

Yeah, it's kind of a certain sound I guess, sometimes it's called sadcore. I don't personally like genre names, but it's the best thing to just describe it.

Lolol, been listening to this a lot lately.
P.s, I only like the first 'slowcore' song here. The others are meh.

I've never heard it called "sadcore" or "slowcore" before.

Im a big fan of Sparklehorse (one of the bands the OP mentioned), and I would definitely classify that as either alt. rock or even experimental electronica before I'd call it "slowcore"

Now I see why headbanging became uncool.

Oh post-rock is amazing as well, I have Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven on vinyl, one of the most orgasmic listening experiences ever.

Post-rock is good. Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros are among my favourites.

this genre sounds very similar to gothic/doom metal, though a bit less heavy. stuff like Theater of Tragedy - Aegis, Tristania - Widow's Weed, or Draconian in general.
