Can't they just reposition it? I don't think it automatically dies once its uprooted

Ya they can reposition it to my house as some new flooring.


(generally if the tree is uprooted you can replant it as long as the roots are good condition. You just have to do it before the roots dry up. Not an easy task for old large trees.)

The tree is historic and part of nature. The winds are a part of nature. So when the tree got owned, there was a loss of an historic item to the university. The trees are just so majestic naturally and go well with all of the older buildings.

Wow, incredible that one of those trees actually got blown over... I guess the winds were a lot stronger than I realized.

Maybe the walkway will get more sun now, always makes a good place to read in the warm months.

I saw that Mac Hawk (the one that killed a squirrel) chilling on that tree, probably had a nest on it ...
