Arati Sharma - CASA National Director
Arati Sharma - CASA National Director
BY ROHAN NAIR & TEMARA BROWN
On March 27th, 2009 the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations, a federal post-secondary education (PSE) lobbying organization went into deliberation for their 2009-2011 National Director.
Amongst the candidates was the McMaster student Arati Sharma.
After a day long process involving platform presentations and an intense question period, the voting members of CASA deliberated the National Director candidates and went to a ballot process.
Around 8:15PM on March 27th, 2009, Arati Sharma was elected the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations National Director.
Arati has previously served as a Social Science SRA member, and as the 2007/2008 MSU Vice-President Education. On Tuesday, March 24th, Arati was a recipient of the Honour M award, given to students who show an exemplary commitment to McMaster University student life.
We from the MSU, and MacInsiders would like to congratulate Arati on this amazing feat, and to give her the best of her luck in her two years as CASA National Director. Canadian Post-Secondary students are in excellent hands, and McMaster students should be very proud that one of their own has achieved such amazing things.
