Take out the window, makes things easy to live there. Bring a fan, but aside from that its never that bad

The first week in Bates last year was really hot - and I was on the 3rd floor. The windows don't open very much but you can take the panels out (just remember to put them back in before you leave for Christmas break because they inspect the rooms). Definitely bring a fan.

From my 1st year experience there (I was on the 5th floor), I needed to both take out one of the windows, as well as bring a fan. September and parts of early October can be really unbearable at times.
Very nice during the winter though.

you can remove the middle window that has the safety stopper, just remember to put it back for christmas inspection

AC is only on in September and April. The rest of the year, the heat is on and it's insanely hot.
