about the beds
Hey everyone
I've been doing some shopping already and I've come up with a couple of questions about the beds in Mary Keyes:
1) Do they have drawers underneath like those in many of the other residences?
2) Do they have feet? (as in feet that would fit into those little block things you can get to raise your bed a bit to give you more storage space)
Thanks, any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Yeah the second question was confusing.
What I meant was... would I be able to use something like these?

They do have drawers as Jeff confirmed and I can't remember exactly but I think they have at least 6 inches of space under the bed.

Yep they have one row of drawers and then a fair amount of space between the drawers and the floor. You could definitely use bed lifts if you wanted more space.

Come on a residence tour this summer if you want to thoroughly check out a Keyes room.

I really don't think it's necessary to prop up the bed though. There is quite a bit of space below the bed already and if you prop it up any higher you'll need step ladder to get into bed.

I have never seen any of those things before, but yes you could use those.

As for the existing space under the bed... I've fit like a couple of boxes under there before but if I recall correctly it you'll have trouble with anything larger than your average shoebox =/

I lived in Keyes for 2 years and let me tell you those beds are high, even without propping them up. How high you may ask? Lets just say I once fell off my bed one night (dont ask why ) and it was quite a drop, bruised me up pretty well. As far as the drawers and storage goe for Keyes, you will have AMPLE space for everything you need to live. The closet is big, the drawers are spacey, and there are large sliding door closets outside each pair of rooms for further storage.

Also if you dont plan on cooking, why not use kitchen cupboards for clothes or other items? Just some considerations. PM me if you or anyone else has Keyes related questions.

Oh! Also the bed and the attached drawers are on legs that are about a foot and a half high. So you can store a bunch of stuff under there.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely tour the residence again at some point this summer. I've toured them all before but they've sort of blended together in my mind.
But how tall are these beds?? You guys are making them sound daunting.

3- maybe 3 and a 1/2 feet high? Not daunting, I would say above average height? Also another note the matress that is provided in Keyes and I think all residences is maybe 20-30cm thick, so its almost not there. So get yourself a matress pad, unless you like the feel of the bed frame on your spine haha.

Yeah, I would also say slightly above average depending on what type of bed you normally sleep on. It would be already if it was the mattress that caused the height, but it isn't. The bed frame itself is ridiculously high which means potential bruises on your knee.

i have a question about the beds in mary keyes as well.

this a bit of a weird question.

are the single beds normal size? the reason i ask this is because i heard some of the single beds are extra long and the normal sheets don't fit on those types of bed. so i just wanted to know if i went and bought normal sized single sheets, will it fit the bed in mary keyes or would i have to buy the extra long single sized sheets?

There is a special form that you need to fill out if your over 6'2 that would entitle you to a longer bed, so I'm pretty sure that anyone who didn't submit that gets a normal bed. Although, maybe there would be some longer beds left over depending on demand?
