Being a CA
Hey everyone, I was just considering applying to be a CA the following year. For those who have had experience being a CA, how did you find it? Was it difficult to balance academics and CA duties? Also, is it true that you have to stay every single weekend? I don't mind being available during the week, but will I be ineligible if I decide to go back home for the weekend every once ina while? That sounds kinda awful LOL. How exactly does coverage work, by the way? I hear it lasts until 3:30 am and sometimes it's more than once a week? Thanks for any insight that can be provided.

I answered similar questions on this thread:

Keep in mind that this was around 2 years ago, so things may have changed a bit.

And no, you don't have to stay on campus for ever single weekend... I averaged about 1 weekend at home every 2-3 weeks.

I'm a CA this year! I enjoy it a lot, but I've had friends who've been CAs in the past who really did not enjoy it. There are actually info session this week in Gilmour Hall 111:

Tuesday 2 - 3:30
Wednesday 5 - 6:30
Thursday 3 - 4:30

Definitely check one of those out if you can, and the Residence Managers can answer any questions you have.
