you should ask people at the gym, especially the trainers they have walking around.
Much more effective than waiting to go to a computer and asking on here.

The bench press barbells are the standard Olympic sized ones. They are 20kg or 44 lbs

I believe all bench press bars weigh 45. That's the weight i take in to consideration when loading the bar.

I don't have a spotter with me but i still use it. Just don't go to the point where you know you can't lift it without help. If you want a spotter, you can just ask someone there to help you or ask one of the personal trainers.

^ very true. I'll just stick to the freeweights for now until i get used to the new surroundings in a new gym. My old gym was always dead, and this one is always packed =s .

What time do you go at? I always try to go during the mornings, basically before 12. If you go in the morning, you won't have to wait for people to finish on machines, benches etc...

Thanks for the reply guys. I thought it would be that. Was afraid of it though. That means I lost 30lbs on my benchpress over this summer and fall. Yikes.

I usually hit the gym around 6:30 - 7am. Five days a week.

How is it in the mornings? I think I am gonna start going insane from going to the gym at 430ish. So many people make Blake sad.

Yeah, i was in PEng today from 5:30 to 6:20. I'm not too worried about the test since the concepts are from last year. Just need to do some reviewing and some practice problems.

I'm pretty sure the gym is good in the morning since people don't want to wake up early.

Just to let you know, it opens at 6:00am on weekdays and 8:30am on weekends.

I'd say there are about 12 people max in the early am in the weightroom. Perfect time to go.

Protein powder (34g of protein) after working out. I wouldn't recommend supplements if you can get all the nutrients you need from whole food(actual food).

I'm on the skinny side and am trying to bulk up instead of getting ripped. So i'm trying to eat as many meals as possible in a day. (5 to 6 meals a day is my goal). Of course, i don't want to get fat also so i'll still be working out.
