Best Popular Science Magazine
Hey guys,

So I'm currently looking for some reading material that I can flip through when I have some spare time.
I'm definitely interested in subscribing to a popular science magazine and I've narrowed my choices down to:

Scientific American
Discover
Popular Science

If anyone has any familiarity with any of those, I would love some insight to which one you prefer and possibly why.

From what I've gathered online through a quick search, it appears Popular Science is the most read one out of the bunch, but the others seem interesting to me.

Any help/thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

Since I discovered Reddit, I found Popular Science is not quite as interesting as it used to be. I found it really interesting and the articles are well written, but you can read every article in the magazine and be done within an hour, so might be good for you.

I found Scientific American very interesting for the stuff I know about, but waaaay too technical for stuff I didn't (obviously). I have never taken a biology or genetics course before (I see you are in Biology so less relevant) but from what I remember, there is a good chance that 1/3 of the magazine will be over your head unless you have taken a whack of courses at Mac. They also tend to have longer articles, so not so good if you just want to flip through them

I think Mac has active subscriptions to some popular science mags, so try logging on to them with libaccess and check them out for yourself before you decide to subscribe (or just read them online for free)?

here's the link to Scientific American:
http://www.nature.com.libacc ess.li...ive/index.html

popular science:
http://go.galegroup.com.liba ccess....&auth Count=1

if those links don't work: all you have to do is go to the library catalogue and type in the magazine name. in the listings that come up, click the result that is classified as an ejournal. this will take you to the link page where you can sign in with libaccess and access the magazine.

Thanks for the input guys!
I'm leaning towards Discovery, but I'll head down to the store or library and pick up a copy of each and flip through just to make sure

I like Discover! Good for flipping through, nice pictures and interesting cover stories.
