Bio 1A03 Skills Labs
For the skills labs, do we have to do a write-up for it, or is bringing the evaluation sheet enough? Also, the lab manual said "You will watch a video at the beginning of the lab session."
I'm wondering if there's a video that we should be watching at home before we attempt the lab in person. Can anyone clarify for me?

I just did 1 of the skill labs today - micropippete one. They show you the video in the lab, it's short and isn't too difficult. Just remember to paste the last page of each skill lab manual into your lab notebook.

We don't need to do any sort of write-up for each?

If Vaidawg is correct, then there is no write-up required for the skills lab. Although it would be a great asset.

I don't raelly get what they mean by setting the absorbance scale to infinity A (using Dial 1), and then using Dial 3 to adjust the absorbance scale to 0. Isn't Dial 1 used to turn it on? Why are both dials used for the absorbance scale?

Good question, lol. I'm pretty sure they can help you with this when you go to your skills lab or if someone knows here, that would be better

I did the microscope one yesterday, which is supposedly the hardest. The only portion that is difficult is the third portion, as it is really hard to see the occular micrometer. YOU WILL NEED TO TURN YOUR LIGHT ALL THE WAY TO MINIMUM TO BE ABLE TO READ IT WELL! Do that and you'll be fine for that lab. It only took me 20 minutes.

Man, I wish I read that comment before I went in. I walked back and forth five times to replace my ocular micrometer, thinking I had defective ones hahaha.
