Bio 3FF3 (Evolution) - Open Book Exam
The exam for this course is open book, which pretty much means that we can bring along our textbooks and an accompanying "crib-sheet". However, there is a lot of stuff to cover, and I was wondering if anybody that has taken this course before could shed some tips/details about the exam in terms of format, difficulty, and if it is actually necessary to read the entire book before the exam?
Thanks

I used the index to find the relevant pages when I took the exam, just have to figure out what the key words are in the question which shouldn't be hard.

Not that this should hold too much merit, as Stone probably changes up his exams each year.. but I found there was less emphasis on adaptation and more based on Hardy-Weinberg. Know your graphs and know your math. Also there was a pretty random question about virulence and diseases based on transmission through the water. I think its covered towards the end of the course so that's definitely worth a look.

Also: make sure you understand the stuff about neutral theory of mutations. It was only like 20 questions, and I found it way easier than I thought it was gonna be. Good luck!

Confirming the exam was 20 questions, of which the last one was a giveaway. But he might change it up this year.

Yeah, he said in class...I'm still kinda really surprised, haha. I expected it to be far longer given that it's 3 hours, but perhaps the questions are time consuming.

Since this thread is receiving quite a bit of attention, I'll post my questions here as well
Any recommendations on how to study for this exam? Are all the questions going to be multiple choice like those on the questions? How similar will the questions be to the quizzes? (since the quizzes basically tested on information from specific figures so will we be provided figures (which usually had something written like Fig 10.2 or something to quickly search it up/pg numbers on the exam?) What sorts of information should I write on my crib sheet?
Thanks!

Good! Because I don't think I'm ready to draw trees (unless it's the new legal kind )
