Biochem 2L06 - Labs & Tutorial Sections
Hey guys, on my timetable, for Biochem 2L06, I'm in L02 and T03 (lab thursday, tutorial friday). Is it possible for me to switch into the same lab and tutorial sections? For example L02/T02 or L03/T03 (similar to chemistry labs and tutorials). Just wondering, since it says EOW for the labs and tutorial sections.

Hmm, it looks like they completely changed the format of 2L06 this year - last year it was a 2-hour core on Monday and a 4-hour lab every week on one of Wed, Thurs, or Fri.

I would guess that you should be able to do that, assuming that tutorials and labs alternate every week like 1st year Chem. If SOLAR lets you do that without saying there's a conflict, then it should be fine.

You should email Dr. Vulcu about this. You can Google her name and get her e-mail there.

They never did have tutorials for this course. We just had a lecture and a lab, and both double up as "tutorials" occasionally, but they're doing it differently this year so we as upper-year students don't know how that'll turn out.

EDIT: I'm guessing you can't though, considering that tutorials are seemingly every week and in the same time slot. I have no idea whether or not they're mandatory, however.

Aha, thanks for the replies. I was checking my McMaster email, and I just got this 15 minutes ago:

Quote:
Dear Student,

Our records indicate that you are currently enrolled in BIOCHEM 2L06. We understand that there has been some confusion with the labs and tutorials for this course. By the end of this evening, all tutorials for this course should show as TBA on your timetable. This is because the tutorials for this course do not exist separately from the labs. We are unable to remove the tutorials from SOLAR as they are an administrative feature, however please be assured that this tutorial (indicated as TBA) will not interfere if you would like to take another course that is offered at the same time as the tutorial. More information regarding this will be available to you on the first day of BIOCHEM 2L06 and in your course manual.
