Biochem 3G03 and Mol Bio 3O03
I've got a few questions for those that have taken either of these courses.

I just registered for Biochem 3G03 so I missed the first two lectures. Does anyone know if the textbook is mandatory/useful or if the lecture notes should be sufficient?

For those that have taken Mol Bio 3O03, how did you find this course in terms of the workload and the marking? The prof in class said that she doesn't use the textbook but do you still recommend that I purchase it? She said the questions on the midterm/final would be all application based.. how did you find the midterms+exam? How did you prepare for it? Also, for the tutorials, we will have to present/lead discussion/participate in others discussions/etc. Is this a group or individual presentation? How long do they usually have to be? And how tough are the tutorial TAs when it comes to marking? If I put in a fair amount of effort, should I be able to score 10+?

Thanks!

Dr Yang said the textbook is mandatory, yes. He will be testing on concepts within the text (I think), as well as on end-of-the-chapter questions.

EDIT: Biochem 3G03, if it wasn't clear! Haha.
