Biopharm 2010-2011
I was looking through the courses we have to take for this upcoming year and I was looking for some clarification as to what to do, because it seems to me Bio 3UU3 and Pharmac 3A06 in second semester are conflicting for the hour of 13:30-14:30 on Friday's. I'm sure I am just reading it wrong and was not sure who to ask.

PHARMAC 3A06 TERM 3
C01 Fr 11:30 14:20 1 MDCL/2242
WILSON, J

Tu 08:30 11:20 3 MDCL/3015

C02 Fr 11:30 14:20 1 MDCL/2244
HUIZINGA, JD

Tu 08:30 11:20 2 MDCL/3016
HUIZINGA, JD

BIOLOGY 3UU3
C01 Mo We 11:30 12:20 2 TSH/120
ROLLO, CD

Fr 13:30 14:20 2 TSH/120

Thanks

Yep, they are conflicting. Biochem co-ops have a similar issue with two other classes this year. I emailed the registrar and they told me to email my department, so your best bet is emailing biopharm and letting them know (since a change request in the master timetable can only come from the departments).

Neetu, you got into BIOPHARM too! SWEET DEAL yo! congrats, I guess I know more people in the program now...and silly question but on the course requirements page it says we only need 4 courses a term in 3rd year..however I remember someone telling me we HAVE to take 5 seeing as its a coop program, weird aint it?

OMG Arjun.. congrats.
Finally I know someone

We have to take 5 and 5, if you go under registrars for biopharm it tells you what we have to take (3 physiology, 1 biochem, 2 full year pharmacology, 1 from course list, and 1 elective).

I e-mailed Dr. Wilson and this is what she said

Pharmac 3A06 has different times in term 1 and 2.
Term 1 is at Friday 1130-1420
Term 2 is at Tues 830-1120

I think we should all meet up before school starts

I tried to organize a meet-up of the new Biopharm fellows but Michelle said it wouldn't be possible seeing as people need to finish course requirements and such. Thanks for the clear-up though with pharm courses . Any thoughts on the elective course? or even that course list one? I was maybe thinking Biochem 2EE3 for the course list one.

Omg congrats everyonee! Can wait to meet you guys in Sept! =D
I wish I could take Biochem 2EE3 as well, but it conflicts with Bio 3UU3...correct me if I'm wrong though!
It's great that I found 20% of everyone in biopharm this year...so far =)

I already took biochem this past year so I was thinking of taking bio 3ss3 with dushoff in second term, but anything easier would be awsome ... I have no idea what elective to take

Bio 3SS3 was an okayy course, although it was very dryy and gets really boring.
Lots of math and modeling...wasn't quite the course I was looking for...

So for my term one I have BioChem 3G03, Bio 3P03,Bio 3U03 and the 2 Pharma courses, looks like our course list course and elective should be a 2nd term deal

I'm not to sure what it is this year, but I really dont think grades are everything. As long as you have a well written application, resume, coverleter and do a killer interview you can make up for grades. (PS second year gets alot better and to get a higher gpa is not out of reach). I recommend taking the 2C00 course (science co-op course) in your second year, because it really helps with resume building etc. Do some volunteering and if this is what you really want to do it'll come across in the interview

So from what I have seen the only course we can fit in term 2 (after a quick look around) is Bio 3MM3...wow thats sounds like fun..seems everything else for me conflicts or I dont have the pre-reqs( all the 3rd year biochems except 3G03, need 2EE3 or something as pre-req and I dont have, same for the earth sci courses)...greaaaat

Orgo isnt as terrible as people make it out to be, work hard and good grades are achievable. However dont go in thinking you will ace it, work hard, and keep up with the work and you will be fine. . Good luck with your Biopharm endeavors, as said above, if its something you want, it will show in your interview and your marks.
