Cut price sale at Titles; most penguin published books are on sale, you can find decent books anywhere from $1 to $10. I found some decent bargains last year. Haven't had time to visit this year, nor am I planning to buy any books because I somehow have lost my ability to read a book :(

I'll check it out, although I doubt any of the good books were moved down to $ 0.99.

I said I wouldn't buy anymore books till Canada gets the Kindle, but at this price I might just have to break that rule... (and because it looks like we'll never get it, lol).

Pretty sweet sale, I may go back...I found some great books today.
-The Queen's B-stard by Robin Maxwell ($4.50 I think)
-The Moccasin Telegraph and other Stories by W.P. Kinsella ($4)
-Craft & Technique by Paul Raymond Martin ($3.99)
-a copy of Beowulf ($1.99)
I read the Moccasin Telegraph one and it's SO GOOD. Basically short stories about a guy named Silas Ermineskin, his community and some situations they find themselves in. It's hilarious.
and a pack of duck baby note cards/envelopes ($1.99) xD

I wouldn't get a Kindle, personally...
1) Electronics are unreliable
2) Expensive - I'd rather just buy books than spend hundreds of bucks on a little machine to read them on - a book light is like, $5-10 so being able to read in the dark is not an excuse xD
3) I like books

Well, I won't derail this thread into a debate about how awesome the Kindle is, but the main selling points for me are the fact that I can buy a book at any time without needing to go to a bookstore, that I can use Wikipedia anywhere, that I can carry all my books around with me at one time, and that its more comfortable for reading with in bed.

And you can't actually read in the dark with a Kindle, you'd still need a light

I think XKCD says it best...

So I didn't get a chance to go to this today, because I was so excited about the fact that it was just announced that the Kindle was coming to Canada!

Its only my lack of a credit card that has kept me from already purchasing one, I'm probably going out to apply for one tomorrow just for this.

I'd assume I would hate reading afterwords; even doing one English course with a not so great prof was enough to spoil my reading habits for quite a while.

Bah, I took a literature course and besides it being my worse mark in University it was one of the few classes I've actually enjoyed in University. Science courses are all "memorize this" and listen to the prof list off terminology you won't remember.

Maybe it was just my prof... every word out of her mouth made me think she wasn't qualified to be reading, let alone teaching. I don't suppose you did Longer Genres?
