I thought last year when they ended up with unclaimed bags of swag they sold them off
When they say "Pick up your macpass" this means getting your bag as well right?

There's the one free concert that everyone can go to. Other than that I don't think there is anything else you can do.

As much as I love Welcome Week and all the activities involved, I think in your case a Mac Pass might not be worth it. You're missing a lot of the week, and it looks like you'll be getting there really close to the day classes start. Not as much goes on on the days with classes running, so the only full day you'd be there for is the Saturday. If there is extra, you can buy WW swag from the faculty office of your faculty (but that's not something I would count on).

If you still want the Welcome Week experience though, get involved as a rep for next year! I missed a fair bit of my Welcome Week, and didn't realize how much I missed until I got involved as a rep and went to all the activities. In some ways being a rep for WW is even better than being a first year!

I think you're also allowed to go to the Hypnotist show. Last year it was outside, so I just went and watched the show. I also somehow got into the Charity Casino, they never checked for a wristband :| LOL

although, last year, i got this awesome pad of stickies. those were great. even though half of them were not sticky at all
I'm wondering if I can get a bag if I arrive on the 5th of September?

and seriously they dont check the wrist bands?

If I were you I would buy it.. I repped last year for a res and we had quite a few people who chose not to buy them initially, but regretted it within the first 20 mins of being there. You get res shirts that you wear pretty much everyday, and believe me it really does make you feel like part of the group. You can wear that shirt and do anything and I swear people will not look at you weird. There is some opportunity to purchase the swag during welcome week, but once stuff sells out its gone, so even if you're only there for a few days I would. Welcome week is where you meet everyone and you don't want to be feeling left out or excluded. I say go for it... PS Welcome to Mac

Well, only you know how you'll hold up with the fasting, but I wouldn't let that stop you. Last year SOCS had a rep fasting for Ramadan during Welcome Week, and he was one of the most enthusiastic reps. And reps have to get there before first years, and stay much later as well. So its definitely doable!

totally not worth it.

all the good stuff you either don't need a macpass or they don't even bother checking if you have one or not.

if you're going to miss half the week anyway no point at all....unless you really want a laundry bag

I'm going to be a first year student and I will stay off-campus. Actually, I don't know anything about Welcome Week. Is it for all first year students or it 's just for students staying on campus ? Should I buy Macpass or not ?
