what kind of calculator can you use for any math courses.
It's not different for every class right? (taking 1ls3,1b03)
I use sharp el-520w would this be fine?
I heard that your only allowed casio brands is this true?

I had the sharp as well and found the conversion very easy. The Casio has several features that are not found in too many calculators (excluding graphing). I think there is an article on this website that outlines the cool features. Its about $20 at titles, so not too expensive.
Also, i dont know about other maths, but engineering math did not allow calculators last year. Everything was done in ur head or on paper. Other courses (physics, econ, chem) allowed it though.

Just double checking, so you can have the ES, MS, or ES plus versions of the 991

id get the MS version from the bookstore. The functionality is not too different from version to version but they look different. The LAST thing you want to be doing before writing ur Final exam is trying to explain mcmasters policy on calculators to some picky invigilator.

Not just science courses, all courses at McMaster.
You can use your old one for homework, but it's recommended that you completely ditch your old one and switch over to the casio, because it's actually a really good calculator and becoming familiar with its features can save you loads of time on a test/exam and prevent you from making silly calculation errors.

As far as I know, other maths will allow a calculator--1LS3, 1A03, 1AA3 and 1B03 all allow it
Sucks for engineers...I wrote an exam with some type of engineering exam last year, and they had all thought they were allowed calculators and then found out about 5mins before the exam started that they weren't allowed. They were NOT very happy people
