Calculus
So if I had the option to choose between ARTS&SCI 1D06(offered in term 1) OR MATH 1MO3(for socsci, humanities etc. offered in term 2)
which one would you recommend, seeing that I am trying to keep my options open for picking courses in the second year? Oh and I want to major in Economics.

i would go with math 1m03, it's a very easy course and the professors are awesome.

ArtSci 1D06 is a 6-unit course (which means it's likely offered in term 3--ie, it's a full year course) that covers the same material as math 1A03 and 1AA3. It's a separate one for artsci students, I'm not sure if students from other faculties are allowed to take it as well. There's no note in the course calendar, so maybe you can...but it's definitely meant for the artsci program.
There's really not much in the way of comparing the two, they're pretty different. For econ I think 1M03 is fine, but if you actually want to keep your options open, you would probably be better off just taking math 1A03 or 1LS3.
