Where can I park for just a week?
SO i am going to have a car for the week. But I have no idea where to park, like there are the parking lots where it is 20 dollars max a visit, but is that 20 dollars for the entire week or is it 20 dollars a day? Any ideas on a cheap place to park for the week?
Thanks for any help.

You can always rent out someone's driveway for the week.

Hey;
If you park on campus in lots A through E I believe, it is a maximum of 20 dollars a day. I was wondering the same thing, can we park in the plaza across from mac? The one with Ginos? *-)

You can always park in lots M,N, O and P. There is a shuttle that will take you from the parking lots to campus. It would cost you $5/day to park in these four lots. Overall, you would end up paying $25 for the week.

Lot P, which is by the baseball diamonds, is only $5 per day. If you don't want to walk across the Cootes to get to school, there is also a white shuttle bus that
runs every ~15 minutes and drops off by Mary Keyes.
Here's a link to a map of the parking lots:

Most of the plaza's parking lots near campus are patrolled, so if you leave your car there all day, you are likely to get a warning and then a ticket. There are some streets further away from campus that are free parking all day, but be sure to read the signs carefully before parking as the Hamilton Bylaw officers will come by several times a day and ticket if you are in violation.

I am pretty sure that police regularly check up on the plaza parking lots. There is a high chance that you would get a ticket (especially if you park there all day). Unless you only have a one hour lecture, I wouldn’t suggest parking in the plaza lots.

Please be courteous to those parking there and actually using the plaza. That lot fills pretty quickly at peak times. As mentioned, there is plenty of 1hr parking around campus, but long term might be a problem.

i'd say your best bet is lot M... the shuttle buses actually run often,,, in the mornings sometimes on a schedule of every 5 mins or so... and its way cheaper than parking right on campus for the 20$ for anything over like 2 hours.

I would really recommend finding a friend with a house off-campus who would be willing to lend you their driveway. I know I saved my cousin $100s of dollars last year by letting him use our driveway.. none of the people in my house were going to use it so why not! Or, if you don't have a willing off-campus friend, you can do as was previously mentioned and look for someone who'd be willing to rent it out.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know how often lots M, N, O and P are full in the evening? I usually have to come to mac once every two weeks for a club meeting or something and I'm willing to pay the $5 to park but I'm afraid of driving down there and every lot being full.

The parking lots are hardly ever full in the evenings. Most students have classes during the day, so the lots get pretty empty after 4:00 pm.
I also want to point out that the parking rates change in the evenings. After 4 pm, parking in lots M,N,O and P only costs $2.50 and parking in the closer lots costs $5. Both are flat rates. You can also park on the surrounding streets (eg. Sanders Drive or Sterling Street) for free after 6:00 pm (for as long as you wish).
Hope that helps!
