how can i study for bio 1m03?
hi all,

i have a bio 1m03 midterm this week , and i dont know how to study for this....what are some tips and tricks that i can apply so as to not fall asleep in lectures and while reading textbook, because evolution is ?

my problem is that i m scared for this upcoming midterm b/c it will be hard and my prof tends to really confuse us with his useless hard questions.

Bio 1m03 is about as easy as it gets in terms of bio courses, trust me on that.

Just study, there are no special tricks.

Memorize, memorize, memorize.

Avoid predators, survive long enough to reproduce.

Good luck!

A good place to start is to NOT fall asleep during lectures..

After that, a good place is just to view all the posted powerpoints and make sure you understand everything on them. It shouldn't be too hard because we've hardly done anything since last test that is a difficult concept. Pretty much we covered human evolution, which will just be memorization of what stuff happened in what general order and an understanding of the different genus, and some basic animal behaviour.

I'm not sure, but he isn't teaching it this semester anyway.

As with most biology courses, go through the lecture slides and make your own written notes of things that you can't easily comprehend/memorize. Organize these by topics, since part of memory recall will be trying to imagine where you wrote down the notes. Once you have a whole stack of notes, start memorizing them. Stare at these for a good few hours until you know every little detail and even where on the page it was written (for better memory recall during the midterm).

It really really sucks that this is the best way to study for biology -_- Makes it seem inferior to chem/physics when it really shouldn't be.

First-year chemistry is basically memory-work as well, except you memorize methods rather than specific facts. Unfortunately, first-year physics is approached as memory-work by most students who take it as well
