Btech might be a bit easier than engineering, but btech is not an easy program. You still need to work hard to get good grades. You are still going to deal with math, physics, chemistry, programming, etc.
If a graduate engineering program requires a 9, the requirement for a btech student would be a bit higher, so probably a 10. I think the only exception is if you choose a program from SEP (school of engineering practice).
If you are in btech, don't take the program lightly, make sure you actually study hard, especially if you are thinking about graduate studies!

You can transfer between engineering and btech, but to go from btech to engineering , you need good grades. I am not entirely sure what average you need to transfer to engineering, but i think you need about an 8 or 9. Just work hard and don't slack off.
