i never did it but my parents did and they said that it is not hard at all. The only thing you have to remember is that you have to get perfect on the voting section of the test, otherwise you fail the whole test altogether.

Didn't they send you a prep package full of facts about Canada's history and other stuff related to the test?

it tests your knowledge of the provinces, capitals, their major industries, etc. and some other things related to canada. and yeah, as mentioned, they give you a booklet with all the information.

but this was like... over 10 years ago, idk what they added or changed since then. (when my parents wrote it)

helped someone study for it that barley knows english and they passed it with flying colours. Just over over the information package they send you. There are also mock tests on the internet you can find with typical questions.

They will ask how many Stanley Cups the Montreal Canadiens have won. The answer is 24.

Jk. It's not that hard. Maybe glance over the package once and you'll be fine.

Just did my citizenship test around December 2011, the test was easy. I did lots of online practice tests. Made a summary while reading through the booklet then reviewed the summary sheet.

Not sure if you did the G1 driving test but compared to the G1 test, Id say the citizenship test was easier.

i did mine early last year and really you will pass it if you at least read the booklet they send and do the practice quizzes online. Make sure you know the answers to random things like which province is famous for what and know all the voting info (whats MP, prime minister, whos the person in your riding etc), it helps to know which are provinces and their names and which are the territories along with the major lakes. If you were in Canada for grade 9 and took geography and passed then you should be fine for that section.

I agree with EngineBoy the citizenship test is easier than the G1 driving test especially if you came to Canada at a younger age and went through the school system.

From what my parents told me is that in that part of the test, you have to know the basic knowledge of the voting system in Canada such as how you mark the ballot, etc. and they said you have to get that section absolutely perfect or you fail the test even if you did well on the other sections.

I did mine last year , it was easy. Just know what's in the booklet and i think it's mostly common sense as well. I would suggest you find sample tests on internet and practice it. Gl!

I wouldnt say its common sense, you have to study. Even Canadians born and raised could fail the test.
